Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) on simple essay writing skills in third grade students of Elementary School Plus Cahaya Budaya This research uses quantitative research with the type of pre-experimental and the research design uses one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all third grade students of Elementary School Plus Cahaya Budaya, with 23 students. The research sample was taken using saturated sampling with a sample of 23 students in class Elementary School Plus Cahaya Budaya. Data collection techniques used in the form of test and research instruments in the form of pretest and posttest question essays.the result of research calculations using the t-test. On the result of the calculations of the hypothesis test that has been carried out, it is obtained sig. (one tailed) is 0,000 due to the value of sig. (1-tailed) < 0,05 so it can be said that there is an influence of the CTL learning model on the skills of  the writing simple essays in third grade students of Elementary School Plus Cahaya Budaya.
