Abstract

This study aims to describe the Strengthening of Independent Characters of Class II Elementary School Students during the PPKM period. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Using the subject of the principal, class II teacher and guardian of class II students. The technique used is observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the analysis show that: (1) Of the 4 research indicators on the learning process. It is proven that there are 4 indicators for strengthening independent character. Although there are some that are less than optimal with various factors from students and from people around such as teachers and parents. (2) The strategy used in strengthening independent character in grade II is that the teacher invites parents to participate in providing reinforcement and the teacher tries to set a good example. In conclusion, the indicator for implementing independent character strengthening in elementary schools is the most frequently used. Completing tasks without bothering others. The teacher uses critical thinking and problem solving models. In addition, teachers use optimizing cooperation with parents and inculcating independent characters in each learning activity.
