Abstract

The low reading interest of students greatly affects the reading comprehension ability of high grade students. The effect of interactive multimedia on the reading comprehension skills of fourth grade students at SDN Ketegan. The media that will be developed is interactive multimedia. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interactive multimedia on the reading skills of elementary school students. This research was conducted at SDN Ketegan involving 30 grade IV students. This research method uses a quantitative experimental approach, with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection in this study used pre-test and post-test sheets in the form of description questions. The results of the paired sample statistical analysis showed the mean value of the pretest data for reading comprehension skills was 57.08. In the posttest data, reading comprehension skills were 84.50. So it can be concluded that there is an average difference between the pretest and posttest data of students' reading comprehension skills. it means that in this study the influence of interactive multimedia on students' reading skills.
