Introduction
In the current era, namely the era of globalization which is marked by the increasing sophistication of technological developments, in this revolution teachers are expected to be able to understand and be able to use technology in the learning process in the classroom to increase students' motivation to learn, in addition to being able to use technology, teachers must have competence in integrating technology. The application of technology in the learning process is very important in today's era of globalization because in the daily lives of students it is inseparable from the use of technology. Therefore, the application of motor teaching materials based on flipbook It is expected to provide benefits for the teaching of the Qur'an Hadith, especially in increasing students' understanding, interest, and skills in the Qur'an Hadith material taught. [1]
The development of the world and in facing the challenges of the future (21st century) has put literacy as a key skill. Thus, literacy has an important role for students. Supporting this, various studies also state that literacy will affect learning success, help expand knowledge and experience, improve thinking, sharpen reasoning, and achieve self-improvement. Through its definition, the Ministry of Education and Culture states literacy as (1) the ability to carry out reading, writing, arithmetic, and speaking activities as well as the ability to find and use information, (2) social activities that in their application are influenced by various conditions, (3) learning activities in which there are reading, writing, and counting activities that are used to think, investigate, question, and criticize all things that have been learned, and (4) the use of reading that has Variations in terms of subject, genre, and level of complexity of language.[2]. There is also a hadith about the importance of following knowledge, especially in religious knowledge, which has been narrated by Sunan At-Tirmidhi which reads:
Meaning: From Ibn Abbas, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, 'Whoever Allah wills good for him, Allah makes him an expert in matters of religion. HR. Tirmidhi. (Zuhri, 1992)
The hadith shows the priority of the seekers of knowledge that they are the desired people, as well as the happiness of this world and the hereafter, one of which is by seeking religious knowledge, therefore we are encouraged to deepen religious knowledge. This hadith emphasizes that seeking religious knowledge is one way to get goodness from Allah. This hadith can be a motivation for Muslims to continue to learn and deepen religious knowledge, in order to get the goodness promised by Allah.
Education in Indonesia, especially in the context of Islamic religious education, aims to instill religious values in students, as well as equip them with knowledge that is applicable in daily life. One of the important subjects in the religious education curriculum is the Qur'an Hadith, which focuses on the understanding, practice and experience of the teachings of Islamic religion contained in the Qur'an Hadith and one of the main goals of learning the Qur'an Hadith is the formation of religious character. Therefore, digital learning media such as flipbook This really helps the learning process to be easier and more understandable. Learning media flipbook is one of the software (software) designed to convert PDF files to digital book pages. Flipbook this can turn the PDF file back into an animated magazine by being able to flip like a book automatically. This media can be used as one of the media that can be used to strengthen students' literacy because this media is quite unique and does not cause boredom in students when applied to the learning process. The definition of strengthening literacy is an increase in the ability of individuals to read, write, understand, interpret, and use information properly because with a high level of literacy, individuals can actively participate in learning.[3]
In fact, students at MTs Nurul Ikhwan lack interest in literacy such as reading, let alone the reading materials used, for example such as LKS books and textbooks, therefore flipbook-based teaching media is used so that students are more interested in reading learning materials, and after applying flipbook media, students are more interested in reading it. In this study, flipbook-based teaching media uses material about mad sila, which is divided into two, namely mad silah qasirah and mad silah thawilah. Currently, many students are proficient in operating digital devices, but lack understanding in managing for positive things. Therefore, there is a need for the role of educators to support students' understanding so that they can use digital devices as a means of gaining better insights, skills, and attitudes.[4]
As the results of Annisa Eka Ayu Cahya Ningrum's research, Abdulloh Hamid & Irfan Tamwifi explained that the application of media Flipbook In the PAI learning in the field of Islamic cultural history at SD Negeri Mergosari II went well and was able to increase the reading interest of grade VI students because before the PAI learning was carried out, the teacher analyzed the right teaching materials that could be used as material during the teaching and learning process in the classroom.[3] Then the results of Ratno Susanto's research explained that the media flipbook can be used as a supporting medium for learning activities in the classroom and outside the classroom. Reading stories and activities in the media flipbook can help scout coaches and teachers in carrying out active and fun learning activities for students.[5]
Based on the results of the above research there are several differences, in this study focusing on grade VIII students when the researcher made observations there were several obstacles in learning the Qur'an Hadith, students easily get bored in learning that is too monotonous and the media used is that. Therefore, the author wants to conduct a research entitled "The Utilization of Flipbook-Based Motor Teaching Materials as Literacy for Strengthening the Learning of the Qur'an Hadith at MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession". The purpose of this study was to find out the planning for the use of flipbook-based motor teaching materials as literacy to strengthen learning the Qur'an Hadith, to find out the use and application of flipbook-based motor teaching materials as literacy to strengthen learning the Qur'an Hadith, and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in the use of flipbook-based motor teaching materialsas literacy to strengthen the learning of the Qur'an Hadith. Problems in schools related to the use of flipbook-based motor teaching materials as literacy to strengthen learning the Qur'an Hadith at MTs Nurul Ikhwan The concession is the lack of student interest in learning and the lack of literacy such as reading, therefore flipbook-based teaching media is used so that students are more interested in reading and understanding learning materials. One of the efforts made to strengthen learning is by introducing digital literacy activities, namely flipbook-based teaching materials to students at school.
Motor teaching materials are any form of materials, tools, or learning resources that are used to help develop children's motor skills, both gross motor and fine motor. This teaching material is used to train and improve children's development. Motor teaching materials can be in the form of teaching media provided by teachers to increase students' interest in reading. While Teaching materials are an important source of material for teachers in carrying out the learning process. Without teaching materials, it seems that teachers will have difficulty in achieving learning goals. In principle, teachers must always prepare teaching materials in the implementation of the learning process.[6] PMotor development is the process by which the ability to regulate body movements through the coordinated action of nerves, muscles, and nerve centers develops. A person's ability to move directly is influenced by his neural process and the muscles he has and allows a person to move his body during the process of motor development.[7]
Teaching materials are materials or subject matter that are compiled completely and systematically based on the learning principles used by teachers and students in the learning process. Teaching materials are systematic, meaning they are arranged in order, following the system development process, making it easier for students to learn. In addition, teaching materials are unique and specific, meaning that the content of teaching materials is designed in such a way only to achieve certain competencies of certain goals. Teaching materials are information, tools and texts needed by teachers or instructors for planning and reviewing learning implementation. Schools as educational institutions that function as a place for learning activities that aim to develop knowledge, understanding and analytical skills of the community in entering community life.[8]. The use of teaching materials that are in accordance with the characteristics of students and learning materials will increase student motivation. Teachers are required to be able to utilize existing teaching materials in accordance with the latest scientific and technological developments.
The use of learning media is a component that supports learning success. This is because the media is an integral part of the teaching and learning process to achieve educational goals. The most important thing in a learning activity is the learning process. Learning outcomes are obtained from a process of interaction with various learning sources. Learning resources can be teachers, instructors, trainers, books, teaching materials, and modules. The essence of learning is an intensive communication process and in it there is a process of delivering messages from the message source to the recipient of the message. The use of media in the learning process aims to facilitate interaction between teachers and students so that learning becomes more effective and efficient.[9]
In the context of the teaching materials contained in surah An-Nahl verse 43 which emphasizes the importance of asking an expert if you don't know something, this verse is also the basis for seeking knowledge and referring to experts in various fields, including in the context of education and teaching materials. This is affirmed in Surah An-Nahl verse 43 which reads:
وَمَآ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ اِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوْحِيْٓ اِلَيْهِمْ فَاسْـَٔلُوْٓا اَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَۙ ٤٣
Meaning: And We did not send before you (the Prophet Muhammad), but the man to whom We gave a revelation. So ask those who have knowledge if you do not know.
According to Quraish Shihab in the Tafsir Mishbah, it is stated that this verse informs that religious da'wah and prophetic treatises are da'wah delivered by ordinary people who receive revelation and are tasked with inviting people to worldly and ukhrawi happiness.[10] This verse gives a command to ask people who have knowledge if there are unknown things, which in this context refers to religious experts or scholars, in the world of education there are teachers who are more expert in learning, so teachers must have extensive knowledge, know the learning resources to be used and use valid and reliable learning resources so as to encourage students to actively ask questions and seek information from various sources.[11]
This flipbook-based motor teaching material is used so that children are more interested in reading literacy by providing teaching materials that require students' motor activities. The flipbook-based motor teaching material in this study also discusses madness. Based on the review, mad means long, and Silah means relationship. While the review of tajweed mad shilah is mad that occurs because of the existence of ha dlamir. Mad silah is divided into 2, namely mad silah Qasirah and mad silah Thawilah. Based on the meaning of the language mad silah Qasirah means short, according to the science of tajweed, the law of reading is called mad silah qasirah, that is, if the letter ha' dlamir is next to the letter with the meaning of life, it is not connected or connected with the letter after it and is not accompanied by the letter Hamzah. Based on the understanding of language, thawilah means long. The law of recitation is called mad silah thawilah if the letter ha dlarnir meets the letter hamzah, it is read for a length of five harakat or two and a half alif.[12]
Some of the practical benefits of using learning media in the teaching and learning process are that learning media can clarify the presentation of messages and information so that they can facilitate and improve the learning process and outcomes. Then learning media can increase and direct children's attention so that it can cause motivation to learn, more direct interaction between students and their environment. Learning media can overcome the limitations of senses, space, and time.[13]
1. Media Flipbook in Learning
Flipbook is a series of images that vary from one page to the next, when a page is opened quickly it appears to be animated by several other images. Media use flipbook This is as one of the alternative media that can be used during online learning because students can access reading books easily. Media flipbook used instead of printed books because flipbook is a digital book.[14] In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, technology is increasingly sophisticated and developing. In this era, teachers can also provide digital reading books so that it is easier for students to access reading books anytime and anywhere to be used in practicing skills in processing information. Teachers can create digital reading books like flipbooks. Flipbook is one of the interactive learning media, because it can present digital books such as books that can be flipped back, with flipbooks it is hoped that it can increase students' reading literacy and students can be more active in carrying out literacy activities. Students' reading literacy is very important to be improved because students' literacy experience is believed to form a strong foundation in the development of reading, knowledge, skills, and attitudes of students to become the basis for reading and writing which is called students' initial literacy skills.[15]
The definition of strengthening literacy is an increase in the ability of individuals to read, write, understand, interpret, and use information properly because with a high level of literacy, individuals can actively participate in learning.
2. Strengthening Literacy in Learning
Literacy is the ability to interpret information critically so that everyone can access science and technology as an effort to improve their quality of life. Low literacy is still an evaluation material that needs to be improved by all related components in the world of education. Therefore, these school literacy movement programs must be encouraged to implement more innovative and creative.[16] In this increasingly advanced digital era, strengthening digital literacy for students and teachers is very important. The mastery of literacy must also be balanced with critical skills, creativity, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. This literacy plays an important role in learning, where good literacy will improve students' ability to learn something new. Literacy is very necessary because of the fixed rules of education in Indonesia, education, especially at the elementary level, focuses on strengthening literacy in the teaching and learning process.[17]
In general, literacy is explained as a person's ability to process and understand information while reading and writing. National Institute for Literacy, defines Literacy as "the ability of individuals to read, write, speak, count and solve problems at the level of expertise required in work, family and society". Thus, literacy does not only mean being able to read and write, but also having skills and practicing what has been learned so that the knowledge is beneficial for oneself and society.[18] Literacy activities are very synonymous with reading and writing activities but can also be interpreted by covering thinking skills using various sources of knowledge in print, visual, digital, and auditory forms. There is also a hadith that shows the priority of doing literacy, which is narrated by Tirmidhi as follows:
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever recites one letter of the Qur'an, for him one good is one good with it, one good is multiplied into 10 good deeds such as I am not one letter but Alif one letter, Laam one letter and Miim one letter." HR. Tirmidhi.
In the context of literacy, this hadith shows the importance of reading as a form of worship and the search for knowledge. Reading is not just a worldly activity, but also has ukhrawi (hereafter) value. In today's time, hadith can also be a reminder that reading activities must still be maintained and instilled from an early age as part of spiritual literacy education. By doing literacy activities such as reading, it can be a reinforcement in learning.
Method
This research was carried out at MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession located in Sidorejo Hamlet, Pangarungan Village, Torgamba District, Labuhan Batu Selatan Regency. The subjects of his research are teachers of the subject of Al-Qur'an Hadith and students of grade VIII. This research uses qualitative research methods and the type of research is field research. This research was carried out starting on April 17, 2025. The research subject of class VIII at MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession. The object of this study is technology-based learning as a strengthening of digital literacy of grade VIII students. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, documentation. The data analysis technique of this study is guided by Miles and Huberman which consists of four steps including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The validity of the data in this study was checked using source triangulation where the data was obtained from several sources including teachers of Al-Qur'an Hadith subjects, representatives of three students from class VIII MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession by answering several questions about teaching materials as literacy to strengthen learning.
Results and Discussion
Based on several findings and research conducted by researchers by means of observation, interviews and documentation with teachers of Al-Qur'an Hadith subjects, namely Mrs. Siti Ismiatun and representatives of three students from grade VIII at MTs Nurul Ikhwan related to the use of flipbook-based motor teaching materials as literacy to strengthen learning Al-Qur'an Hadith.
1. Planning the Use of Flipbook-Based Motor Teaching Materials
Learning media is a tool and material used to achieve educational goals through teaching and learning activities, with examples such as television, books, newspapers, magazines, radio, and others". Learning media is any object that is used to convey information or messages in the learning process so that it can build students' attention and desire to learn.[19] MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession plans the use of flipbook-based motor teaching materials as literacy to strengthen learning the Qur'an Hadith, namely by facilitating technology-based media such as preparing laptops, projectors, plug cables, and even students are allowed to bring mobile phones during digital-based learning, besides that teachers also prepare materials to be taught using media such as flipbooks, Preparing learning videos and YouTube videos related to the material studied, the researcher has also prepared a teaching medium, namely Flipbooks by searching or preparing materials from the textbooks and collected first in Word then made or edited into a module with the help of Canva media, and the module is designed through Heyzine Flipbooks.[20]
Planning can be described as a process of preparing for things that will be done in the future to achieve a goal that has been set in advance. Planning is a managerial process in determining what will be done and how to do it, and in it the objectives to be achieved are outlined and work programs are also developed to achieve those goals.[21]. Before learning using flipbooks, students were directed to prepare projector and cable media, then the researcher explained the material using flipbook-based teaching media, because at the time of the application of the teaching material, students did not bring their cellphones, students were only explained how to access it through the projector, then students were directed to reopen the flipbook at home using a mobile phone. In planning before the implementation of flipbook-based learning media as literacy to strengthen learning the Qur'an Hadith at MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession, the researcher prepares the material that will be taught through flipbook media that will be delivered in class and coincidentally the focus of the material studied in this study is about the Law of Mad Reading in figure 1, here is an example of the appearance of the teaching materials of the Qur'an Hadith Mad material using media Flipbook:
Figure 1. Cover and content display results
Here are the steps in creating flipbook teaching media:
2. Utilization and Application of Flipbook-Based Motor Teaching Materials as Literacy to Strengthen Learning
In the use of teaching materials at MTs Nurul Ikhwan The first concession made by the researcher was by asking for directions to the teacher of the Qur'an Hadith subject, and the teacher conditioned the classroom atmosphere before carrying out learning so that it was conducive, then the researcher opened a link to access flipbook because students do not bring Mobile So the media used by the projector, the researcher also explained the content of the flipbook, after explaining that the researcher also shared a link flipbook to one of the students who will later be distributed to the class group. This is in accordance with Jaya's opinion that in the implementation of the learning process, the ability required is the creativity of teachers in creating and growing student learning activities in accordance with the plan that has been prepared in the planning stage.[3].
The results of observations from the use of flipbook-based motor teaching materials that have been carried out by the researcher during the implementation of Al-Qur'an Hadith learning using flipbooks at MTs Nurul Ikhwan The concession of students was very enthusiastic in following the teaching and learning process, students paid attention to the projector screen and listened to explanations from start to finish, the researcher chose flipbook-based teaching mediaBecause the media is interesting and contains various features. The use of flipbook learning media can make it easier for students to understand the learning material, can make students not bored because in it there are learning videos and quizzes that can be answered so that students become enthusiastic about learning.
In the use of teaching media based on flipbook It can increase students' interest in learning, make it easier to understand material, be interactive and practical, support independent learning by repeating the material so as to support a sustainable learning process, as well as improve students' motor skills and can also improve student literacy. Literacy activities in learning are expected to help increase student knowledge, increase a person's understanding in drawing conclusions, improve their ability to think critically about a problem, and students' ability to understand oral language. This can be realized by reading, listening, writing and conveying [18] Through surah al-'Alaq: 1-5, Allah SWT encourages and commands humans to use all their potential:
Meaning: "Recite the name of your Lord Who created. He has created man from a clot of blood. Read, and your Lord is the Most Merciful, the One who teaches (mankind) with the medium of the light. He teaches man what he does not know".
According to Quraish Shihab in Tafsir Al-Mishbah it is stated that the word iqra' is used in the sense of reading, studying, conveying and so on, and since the object is general, the object of the word includes everything that can be reached, whether it is a sacred reading that comes from God or not, whether it concerns written or unwritten verses. Scholars differ on the purpose of repetition contained in the third verse, some state that the first opinion states that the first commandment is addressed to the person of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), while the second is to his people, the second opinion states that the first is to read in prayer, and the second is outside prayer. The third opinion states that the first is the command to learn, while the second is the command to teach others. Quraish Shihab also argues that reading is more than just reading a written text but also including ideas, both in the reader and in the person who carries out learning activities, meaning that we do not only read but also by giving our ideas and opinions in learning activities.[22] Therefore, to expand our literacy, we are instructed to read, deepen and understand to gain insight, for example such as learning hadith about madness. The next process after learning with learning media is carried out Flipbook namely the evaluation stage which aims to find out how efficient and effective learning is which includes objectives, methods, teaching material concepts, media, teaching resources, learning atmosphere and assessment.[23]
3. Supporting and Inhibiting Factors in the Utilization of Flipbook-Based Motor Teaching Materials
At MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession, the supporting factor is in the form of the school providing the necessary media that is less than 80% complete such as the existence of a projector, adequate wifi is provided , and students are also allowed to bring mobile phones if needed for classroom learning, the school also supports the use of flipbook media as literacy to strengthen learning. The researcher applies flipbook teaching materials because the school is very supportive and accessing the flipbook is quite easy because it only accesses the links that have been prepared, with the use of this media can save storage space and no need to download files anymore, because flipbook editing is quite attractive to students who are more interested in reading and repeating the material.
According to research conducted by Susanto et al, flipbook-based learning media has several advantages, including:
The inhibiting factors and obstacles encountered when using flipbook teaching media in the classroom are when the power goes out, the use of this teaching media will be constrained because it uses a projector, and sometimes the network is also unstable so there are some students who cannot access flipbooks. Then the obstacles to students' focus on learning are greatly reduced because they are constrained by the misuse of mobile phones which should be used to facilitate learning but make students not fully focus on the material that should be read and understood. The researcher has also shared a link to the flipbook-based material , but there are some students who do not open it at home even though the researcher has also given directions to students to read the material at home. In addition, the link to access the flipbook cannot always be used, the link can be accessed for approximately 3 months, therefore if you want to use it again, you have to recreate the flipbook link, or create it from scratch.
At the beginning before the teaching and learning process is carried out as an effort to help improve the literacy skills of students so that they are used to reading, writing, or being able to convey orally the information that has been obtained, [3] The teacher gives a textbook, then by forming several groups to discuss and ask each other questions.
Conclusion
In this study, it can be concluded that the use of flipbook-based motor teaching materials as literacy to strengthen the learning of the Qur'an Hadith is going well and is able to increase student literacy at MTs Nurul Ikhwan Concession, because before the learning is carried out, teachers and researchers have previously analyzed and prepared teaching materials that will be used during the teaching and learning process. With the use of these teaching materials, the learning process becomes more interesting so that learning runs more effectively. In this study, there are 3 results, namely first, the planning for the use of teaching materials goes well and the school facilitates technology-based media such as leptops, projectors and others. Second, the use and application of flipbook-based teaching materials can increase students' interest in learning, make it easier to understand the material, especially in the Qur'an Hadith lesson in maeri mad sila, then interactive and practical flipbook media, and improve students' motor skills. Third, the supporting factor for the use of flipbook-based teaching materials is that the school provides the necessary media, while the inhibiting factor is because flipbook-based teaching materials are often constrained by the network and electricity.
